Martinez wins the ‘Dancing’ mirrorball

The three dancing finalists of the 13th edition of ABC’s hit competition “Dancing With the Stars” were Rob Kardashian, Ricki Lake and J.R. Martinez. And the season finals went to Actor J. R. Martinez who scored a victory over Rob Kardashian.

The Iraq war veteran Martinez lifted the mirrorball trophy in the air with his professional partner, Karina Smirnoff. He was called an inspiration to the audience by host Tom Bergeron.

Ricki Lake was voted off, finishing third. There was no extra guidance provided by the judges during the final competition, a samba that the dancers had to perform with little preparation time. A score of 30 was given to both teams for their final dances.

Tuesday’s two-hour finale was charmed with music from Lady Antebellum and appearances by this season’s former contestants: Nancy Grace, Carson Kressley, Kristin Cavallari, David Arquette, Elisabetta Canalis, Chynna Phillips, Chaz Bono Metta World Peace and Hope Solo.
